The women are a way of remembering my mother. She still loved beautiful clothing long after she had forgotten who I was.  It is the sense of identity which occurs through our choice of clothing that fascinates me. Satin evokes a different response than denim.

I feel the appearance and the tactile qualities of cloth can arouse memories of people and events. With the idea that other people might also have memories related in some deep way to fabrics reminiscent of people they love I have given each of the forms a name.

These forms have become the women and serve as a way of honoring important memories.
